New Songs Released Every Friday

Hey Everyone,

As some of you may or may not know, Black Bone Child has been very busy this winter.  We have set the release date for our two new albums “Take You Blind” (acoustic) and “Alligator” for 3/9/10. As we approach this date we will be posting one song a week every friday up to the release.  We posted the first one today.  The song is the acoustic version of a song we have been playing live now for a while called Baby Baby.  You can take a listen on our myspace page at http://www.myspace.com/blackbonechild Looking forward to showing you all the new stuff.  Enjoy!

Kentucky Knows How To Party

Tuesday night we had a great show in Louisville KY. Upon arrival at the venue, we were all kind of weary about what to expect, but never underestimate the power of alcohol.The night started off with two local bands: The Local Villians and The Bad Reeds. Both bands were great, and it was nice playing with the Bad Reeds especially because they share our love for dirty, bluesy, rock and roll, as it should be. Once we went on, and the alcohol had been flowing with the crowd, it was on. People dancing, pounding on tables, spilling beer, cans being thrown… It was a rowdy crowd all having a great time, so naturally so did we. Great night. Great people. Kentucky we’ll be back.

Them Longhairs

There is something unavoidable about associating drugs with musicians, and last night that association caught up with us.
After playing a show in Colombus OH, on the way back to the house we were sleeping at, the running lights went out on our trailer. We pulled over to see if it was a quick fix but after a quick look it was something that was going to need some attention that we couldn’t provide at 3:00 in the morning. So we continue on the last few miles to the house. Maybe two miles later we get pulled over. Two cop cars pulled us over for the trailer lights being out.

The officers walked up with one hand on the gun and the other shining the flash light into the van. We explain our situation about the lights and the officer proceeds to tell us that he is going to have to get the drug dog that can smell “One seed of marijuana” and digs when it finds something. …Great just what I want is some dog in my van. But we’ve got nothing to hide. “Bring on the dog.” We tell them. They asked us to all step out of the van one at a time. The first officer proceeds to rifle through our stuff only to find a shit ton of vitamins, Zycam, cough lozenges, etc… I tell the officer “If being high on B-12 is a crime, then lock me up.” They of course find nothing and write us a fix it ticket and send us on our way. I offer the officers a cd,and without any hesitation they say NO.

So this morning we tore the trailer apart and found the problem. Rewired a light and found a 4 dollar fuse blown. Switched it out and are on our way to Louisville KY.

Another story for the road…

Cleveland

Cleveland. Wow. Well I guarantee that all the band and crew will never forget our short stay here in Cleveland OH. Last night involved a blown p.a, a furious owner, a clueless “Sound Guy”, credit cards being held ransom, and it almost all ended in an eight way fist fight. I think its pretty safe to say that we will never be back to The Matinee in Cleveland. On to Pittsburgh!

Detroit “Rock City”

Waking up in downtown Detroit this morning, over half of the band and crew is either sick or on some part of the recovery process. Donny and I walked to the nearest CVS pharmacy to stock up on vitamins B-12, C, Zycam, and throat lozenges to try and fake it until we can make it throught the rest of the tour. Five nights in we are all pretty exhausted and looking forward to the short drives that await us the next few days.
This morning we are headed out to Cleveland where we are going to see the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which we are all excited to see, except for our manager or the “Non-Rocker” as we often call him. Even more than the Hall Of Fame, we are all looking forward to feeling better more.
